Worktribe is a successful, friendly, and fast-growing SaaS company providing a market-leading cloud-based research and teaching platform for universities.
During this period of expansion and growth, we are recruiting a Contracts Manager to join our team. As an experienced Contracts Manager, you will lead our contract renewal process and work with the Sales team when negotiating new deals. Commercial acumen and tenacity will be essential in this role. Knowledge of the HE sector and experience of working in the B2B SaaS environment will be beneficial.
As Worktribe’s Contracts Manager, your focus will be leading the contract renewal process and negotiating the contractual aspects of new deals. Working across the professional services team, you will also manage non-disclosure agreements, data-sharing agreements, and other contractual matters across the company.
Responsibilities will include:
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating new contracts.
- Managing the pipeline of renewals and owning the renewal process; preparing proposals, presenting RoI data to customers, holding renewal meetings, managing pricing and contractual matters and seeing the contract through to full signature.
- Employing a creative and pragmatic approach to contract negotiation, to find ways forward and controlling risk for the company.
- Ensuring adherence with company contracting standards, policies and procedures.
- Relationship building with colleagues and university business leads, legal and procurement professionals.
- Explaining legal and contract management obligations to colleagues to ensure their understanding of, and compliance with, terms.
- Solving complex issues and challenges as they arise, liaising with colleagues to understand business needs.
- Alongside colleagues, proactively managing the customer relationship.
- Producing and improving documentation such as standard terms and service level agreement.
- Tracking and maintaining accurate records of all contractual matters.
- Monitoring and reporting of key performance indicator (KPIs).
- Keeping up to date with changes in legal and regulatory frameworks.
Required abilities and attributes:
- Previous experience of contract negotiation, ideally within the HE sector or B2B SaaS environment.
- Excellent knowledge of the principles of contract law and understanding of contractual terms.
- A pro-active approach to work and the ability to use initiative.
- Skilled and confident communicator and negotiator.
- Confident in working with stakeholders at all levels.
- Exceptional organisational skills; proactive, responsive.
- Great attention to detail and an analytical mindset.
- Flexibility to react to changing situations.
- Degree level qualification or equivalent experience.
